So basically- this is where we spend a great deal of our time when we are in this room! I can’t even count how many hours I have spent in this room, at that dresser changing diapers!

BUT, I couldn’t be more glad that we invested in a long in length- short in height dresser, rather than buying a changing table!! Her amount of everyday clothes take up one drawer. The shoes, bows and other random accessories in another. Pajamas, swim suits and bibs (that I could honestly pack away- she’s not a drooler any longer!) are in another!

This leaves a drawer available for all the diapers, lotions, diaper creams and other “health” products we use on a regular basis!

And then we have blankets and extra sheets in the other two drawers!

All of the decor hanging are Hobby Lobby finds and I know the decals are still available in store! (They were in mine at least!!)

Coat rack behind the door was mine growing up, simply spray painted and looking fabulous and like new!

Our Number 1 Nursery Item

Ive said it once, I will say it one million times- I have never been more thankful for a humidifier/night light/diffuser combo in my entire life!! We had one night of grumpy congested baby and I remembered this was still packed in the closet- and bam. We have used it everyday since!! While its not winter at the moment and we live in a very humid state during the summer, we still use the nightlight without filling with water! The diffuser was the big selling point for me- as we diffused Gentle Baby for over a year every night before bedtime! Point. Blank. If you take any suggestions from me- order the BabyMoov.

Truly a life and sanity saver!

If you ever think there might be some possible chance that you will be home alone and tackling a diaper change by yourself- you need a changing pad. And most importantly- a changing pad with straps. Because if you have yet to wrangle a bucking bronco toddler through a major blowout (just know we had corn for dinner that night- and I hope you’ll understand someday) YOU WILL THANK ME LATER!!

Since we’re on the topic…

I know there’s so many people out there who will claim that these are a waste of money… that the refills are expensive and why waste the money?

Because I don’t have to smell poopy every dang day. We empty the “nap trap” about once every 4 or 5 days, and other than “emptying” time, we don’t deal with smells whatsoever.
Plus- who wants to walk around their house with a soiled diaper, to possibly throw it under the kitchen sink, or who actually takes it all the way to the outdoors dumpster… every single diaper?
Parenthood doesn’t have to be hard y’all. Just choose your battles. Mine? I didn’t want to smell poo poo everyday. Lingering in any room… especially the room where the baby sleeps. No one wants to fall asleep to that unpleasant aroma!

Its worth it y’all.

I never thought I would get asked about a laundry hamper….

Until I started this blog! I really had no idea so many would be interested in the details on the apparatus that holds soiled clothing!

Canvas, cute and cheap! Target find- I picked up in store! It also matches the curtains I am talking about below!

Where I have spent every night of the past 16 months…  sitting in that chair, rocking, feeding, reading, comforting. We learned how to be two separate beings in that chair- I remember sitting down to breastfeed her the first few days home from the hospital and thinking: “You aren’t in my belly anymore- I can’t protect you the same way. How do I do that now?”

Decor:

Mermaid tail canvas was a Hobby Lobby find.

Wall Dots are decals from Hobby Lobby- still available in store!

Rug was from target but is no longer available!

Nora’s Name Sign: is from shop The Cedar Poppy and they are an absolute thrill!! I originally ordered this for Nora’s first birthday celebration, but since COVID we have postponed the party until Nora is One year and a half!!

They were amazing with customizations, making sure my design was exactly as I liked it- and the shipping was a hoot!! (You’ll just have to order the largest size and see yourself how it arrives!!)

Newborn-Sketch: @TheBirthPoster – we have always loved this piece in her room- because she basically entered the world arm first- waving and greeting us with a hello!

We had our first bottle of formula in that chair- we also cooed and sang every night for the first 10 months or so until we learned about a sleep schedule!

Linked above is the chair we have in a different color- and one almost exact from the same brand that is the same color! Our chair is unfortunately sold out at the moment!

the crib of nora’s dreams!

My in-laws splurged on the crib for us, for Nora. It has all the transitional pieces too! Honestly we are just about to the point of taking the front off and making it into the day bed style!

handpicked best board book recommendations…

Nora’s favorite part of her room are the books stacked on that side table (Don’t mind the missing drawer handles, someone can’t stay out, and momma is worried about pinched fingers!!) and she will pull every single one of them off that table and dump them on the floor. Because- it makes her happy. Girl loves her some books.

speaking of books…

When I was designing this nursery in my head… back when I was pregnant, I wanted a wall of book ledges. They’re a sleek, easy type of decor for an empty space and EVERYONE on pinterest raves about their functionality!!

My two sense: yes they’re nice to look at. Yes the shelves are great quality. Yes I adore this little nook in her room!! And yes- I rotate the books by season and color scheme… because I enjoy being THAT mom!!

After having said all of that… I don’t think we hung them in a practical fashion for the room set up! I wish they were directly by the rocking chair so that they are easily accessible when reading before bed! I also wish we had put them lower so that Nora could reach all of the shelves at this age… or do I??

Maybe if we ever decide to move I will get a chance to hang them in a better fashion! But until then- these work great and we will deal with the slight inconvenience!

the matching curtains

Black out panel curtains were a must have- and they still are!! As my husband works nights and weekends- we tend to sleep in a bit! Nora will be in bed around nine and she wakes up around 11a-12p so the curtains are a complete life saver for the hubby! I also love the gold dots- because welp. I just adore gold accents in almost ever decor choice I make!!

We have had this camera almost from the very beginning, had a different one gifted to us from a baby shower- but that company went under and the app was shut down. SO- we found the Lollipop and we haven’t looked back since!!

I absolutely adore the color options- maybe if we have another little we will try the yellow!! SO CUTE!! I also really appreciate the option to have another camera added into the app so if we do have another I don’t have to carry around two little screens, or rather have two apps open to keep an ear on them both!

Installation is super simple- the little “handle” is flexible and wraps around just about anything, with a grippy aspect that keeps it from slipping! We have ours up high (I like being able to see the crib and the door) we use the wall mount that is included!
